'Hamburger' interdisciplinary thinking

25/08, 11:53am I just thought about a 'hamburger.' (This is my favourite food by the way, how about you?) Okay back to the subject of the post. I want to portray what I mean by ' interdisciplinary .' I like hamburgers because it tastes great. Why? Because when all of the 'elements' are placed together , with the combined  different spices and flavours, it tastes 'whole' and of course delicious! So I'm trying to be 'syncretic ' with various fields, disciplines, skills that can be attributed to an 'architect.' I aim to relate to an architect that has many, diverse, skills, disciplines and knowledge to create an 'all-rounded' burger with different elements to help create new and deep solutions to the ever-changing and interconnected society and even world. Does that makes sense? ^ first draft

Breathe in. Breathe out. I just had a thought. A thought that was reassuring. I hope it is a good reminder for you too. It takes time . Do what you can. Make use of what you have. Jump at opportunities. Try and not overwhelm yourself with too many 'doings.' Pick a couple and do it well. I want to try this... I want to go overseas and travel to do this... I want to buy this... Again: breathe in... pause. and breathe out. Remember to rest too. That's what I need - a good sleep. Have a productive week + make room for yourself to breathe and laugh,

My Life Design - Prototype 1

G'day & Chao, 👋 I recently finished the book Designing Your Life . One of the exercises was to map out our 'Odyssey Plan' within a five year timeframe. Try out the career planning exercise using their resource (pdf) . It's adaptable for everyone and every profession - so go try it out (it really makes you think about your career values & personal lifestyle!) I'm not the type of person who makes goals or someone who can think ahead and pursue it ambitiously. But for the sake of wanting of wanting to start 'meaningful' work to improve society, to share my knowledge and skills, to save money and help my parents, I thought I should at least start planning and thinking of my context, my circumstances and my thoughts/ideas before 'working'... It's crazy at the moment. I started this yesterday and I am overwhelmed that this map is turning into a wild, wild mess or even scrambled eggs. Fig. 1 - Five notes to record a five year car

Self-awareness + career journey

Dysfunctional belief: I am looking for a job. Reframe: I am pursuing a number of offers. me: - I am in between designing my career and prototyping some ideas... -- reference: Burnett B & Evans D 2016, Designing Your Life , Chatto & Windus, UK need to read: http://news.stanford.edu/2017/06/22/spreading-life-design-thinking-universities/

'Human'(itarian) Design/Architecture

Interdisciplinary Trio Architecture --> Humanitarian design Nature          --> Sustainable/environmentally friendly Faith/spiritual -> Self awareness, community building & sharing Here's a short backstory... He was big. Not in the 'physical' sense but he had a 'big' personality. He also had many wrinkles on his face and white and grey hair. He most probably was retired. Meet Tony . -- G'day & Chao (hello in Vietnamese), I went to a 'Faith & Environment' workshop a couple of weeks ago, run by ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change). In one of the workshop sessions, we had to go around the circle sharing our 'eco-conversion' story. I was fortunate that an architect was sitting next to me. One man overheard our conversation and he abruptly stopped our conversation and shared his feats to the group... He was a good man though. His personality was a bit strong though. I understand though. -
